Cisco CCENT Exam Preparation
Course Description

This course serves as final preparation for Cisco Exam 640-822 leading to CCENT® certification. Students who complete the 20-lesson Introduction to Network Engineering course, and then this one, are ready to sit the exam and earn the official status of Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT®).

This is a fast-paced course, consisting of 12 total lessons. As they work through, students perform hands-on work on Cisco routers and LAN switches, and work through hundreds of CCENT exam practice questions. The course culminates in a full-blown CCENT practice exam that is just like the real thing.

This course is ideal for students who want to achieve a basic entry-level networking certification, but who are not yet ready to put in the extra time and effort needed to pursue the more advanced CCNA® certification.

About the Field

The Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) is one of Cisco's newest professional IT certifications, geared towards entry-level networkers and technicians. This certification demonstrates that a candidate has solid knowledge of networking fundamentals, and can build and operate a small-sized business LAN network.

The CCENT is an attractive certification option for people who are just getting started in networking, or who plan to work in a general technical field and want to get some verifiable networking skills under their belts.

Career Implications

Networks are the lifeblood of modern commerce, and there is a huge ongoing demand for workers with the skills to maintain them all. This is one career field that continues to grow, showing remarkable resilience and very little unemployment in the face of recent economic upheavals.

The US Department of Labor expects "excellent" job prospects over the coming decade, with overall employment in the field increasing by 30% or more. Career opportunities abound in both the public and private sectors, and salaries are competitive, ranging well into six figures for experienced workers.
